Climatology, correlated noise, and bullfrogs:
A short review of stochastic resonance
Matthew Bennett
After a brief history and description of stochastic resonance (SR), we will
review the basic analytic methodology used to examine SR in several forms.
From here we will take a look at a real world example of SR which is found in
the saccular hair cells of bullfrogs and leopard frogs. Our investigation will
lead us to examine a new type of SR driven by the addition of a secondary
source of correlated noise.
