Abstract:
The classical glassy transition phase diagram is plotted
in the T-P temperature-pressure plane. More recent work
on granular media, colloids and foams has concentrated on
transitions between a flow and stationary, or jammed states
at T=0 in the sigma-P shear-pressure plane. We explore
by means of numerical simulations the conjecture that the glassy
transitions and the jamming are but two facets of a 3-dimenionsional
T-P-sigma phase diagram. Some honest experiments have also been
undertaken but not by us.
