stuendt J.J. Jensen asks:

I am interested in taking the chaos course this fall but have already taken such course before with Professor Multoponderoso. Can we still register for this course and receive credit or would it be better to just sit in?

Predrag's answer:

Professor Multoponderoso and I are using the same course name because theory of dynamical systems and stat mech are fields so huge that you should think about these courses as special topics courses rather than one monolithic cover-it-all course.

Professor Multoponderoso focuses on stochastic and non-equilibrium processes.

I focus on chaotic dynamics, evolution operator formalism and chaotic dynamics foundations of non-equilibrium theory.

There is basically no overlap, and all these approaches are worth learning.

If there is any formal problem, please register with me as a special problems student.
