of Physics directions to campus. Public parking lot end of State Street.
Count on an Atlanta traffic jam.
From Hartsfield
Atlanta Airport to Georgia Tech:

Train: If your luggage is light,
MARTA,
the cheapest form of public transportation (train fare: $2.25?), is by far
the fastest way to get to midtown (20 min). Yes, it is safe.
Get off at Midtown station.
Then 3 solutions to reach the Center:

During the day, every
7 minutes
or so the a
yellow trolley
gets you from the Midtown MARTA station to the
School
of Physics,
on your left as you get off the trolley.

17 minutes brisk walk from MARTA's Midtown station to CNS secretary's door:
walk west across Interstate 75/85, contemplating 17 lanes of traffic jam,
walk 3 long blocks to
State
Street, turn left, walk 2 blocks until School
of Physics main entrance is on your left, parking lot on your right,
and State Street ends.

Take one of the MARTA bus (number 12 or 37) from Midtown station
and ask the bus driver to stop at the intersection between 10th Street
and State Street, then walk a couple of minutes down State Street to reach
the Physics building.

Taxis: The ride to Georgia Tech
takes from 20 to 50 minutes, depending
on the traffic congestion. Flag any cab at the taxi lane. The fare to Georgia
Tech is roughly $28 + ca. 15%tip
- If you have to call a taxi from location other than Hartsfield, Lenox
Cabs 404-872-2600 dispatchers are reliable. Avoid Checkers Cab 404-351-1111
which will put you on endless hold.

Tell the driver to bring you to the School of Physics at Georgia
Tech, 837 State
Street. The School
of Physics institute is a large red brick, post-WW2 institutional
building (see item
81 on the
Georgia Tech campus map).
State street ends in a parking lot; enter through the parking lot level
main entrance on your left.

Airport Car Rental: Call your travel or rental
agency.
Directions within the School of Physics:

School of Physics offices: take elevator to first floor, wander. Offices
are to your right.

CNS, Uzer, Wiesenfeld, Cvitanović: take elevator to the 5th floor.

Grigoriev, Schatz: take elevator to the 3rd floor.
- Goldman: take elevator to the 2rd floor.
